Husker Hollands Minutes

11/21/08
Jody called the meeting to order. Janet moved and JoAnn seconded to approve the minutes of the last meeting. The motion carried. Judy reported that we had at least broken even on the nationals and that we had a total of around $3500 in the bank. JoAnn moved to accept the report. Becky seconded and the report was approved.

Rosa thanked everyone, especially Kelly and Danielle for their help on the nationals raffle.

New Business: Judy reported that the charter had been renewed. Nominations were opened for next year's officers and directors. Judy refused the secretary/treasurer position. The following were nominated and elected Janet's motion, seconded by Judy, to elect by acclamation:

President: Rosa Fields
Vice President: Jody Nissen
Sec/Treasurer: Janet Smith
 Directors: JoAnn Snodgrass
Judy Fitzgerald
Mark Carson

The club discussed a possible Holland Lop special with the Rex Nationals on April 26 in Sedalia. Colorado has a mini convention at the same time. Perhaps there could be a double or triple on Sunday with the Kansas Club, HHRC, and the Missouri Club. We want to make sure we aren't stepping on the Missouri Club's toes. We don't want to cause conflict. We need more information before making a decision.

Memorial Day next year in Seward, Phil Woolett and Todd Naragon have been hired. Easter is Randy Shoemaker, Todd, and Wade Burkhalter.

The proposed 4th of July show in Norton was discussed. The proposal has to go before their fair board to get the building. Rebecca does not think it will be a problem. The cost is $125 with a kitchen. It is a good sized building with parking and wide doors. Motels and camping are nearby. The only problem is show tables. Also, the 4th is on a Saturday next year and may be problematic. The last Saturday in June, the 26th, was suggested as a possibility. That date is available. We have to work out the table situation. June 26 was agreed to as the preferred date. The weekend after the 4th is the alternate date. The group learned that there may be a North Platte show this year. They are talking about a double.

Memberships are due and payable.
The Standard change ballot for Hollands has been voided. The new ones will come first class.

Rebecca thanked everyone for their support. She proposed a new T-shirt saying "Aw, Shucks. Been raising Hollands long?" She will handle the design.

Karen moved to adjourn. Judy seconded and the meeting ended.
